Spocom Hawaii | Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall | Saturday, August 24th, 2019

Spocom Hawaii was held on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 within the Neal Exhibition Hall from 5 p.m. till 11 p.m. bringing together Oahu’s automotive community all under one stage on a Saturday afternoon here in Hawaii Nei

As for yours truly, I have attended Ross Maeshiro’s automotive based & lifestyle events religiously since the year 2000 and have experienced first hand how his events have changed and evolved throughout the years. I have attended his events as a spectator, as media, as www.eight08.net with a 20×10 booth, 2 show cars, and 3 models back in 2006, as well as a participant rolling in my 2003 Lexus IS300 and staging within his events for roughly 7 years straight

This year was different. I already had Spocom Hawaii 2019 marked off as an event I would not be able to check out as a spectator as it’s date neared. My union, Unite Here Local 5, and the company whom I work for, Hale Nani Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, were in heavy negotiations during the Spocom Hawaii weekend, and I didn’t want to disappoint my peers and coworkers as a Committee Leader by not attending what was to be a a BIG contract negotiation date that being Saturday, August 24th, 2019 before our none ending strike notice was to be sent out. Luckily for both parties, the evening ending with a tentative contract agreement at approximately 8:58 p.m. in the evening, and I was able to sneak off to Spocom Hawaii for an hour or so before the event ended. No Canon DSLR. No mirrorless Panasonic DSLR. NO Zhiyun Crane 2 gimbal. Just my Samsung S9 Plus I had in hand trying to conserve and recharge it’s battery source throughout the evening’s contract negotiations. Basically a hit and run event for yours truly trying to capture whatever images I could within my Samsung S9 Plus at an hours time span or so. If anything, I was able to cross paths once again with my numerous friends I have met throughout my automotive based lifestyle

Clubs in attendance included OSIXHI aka Old School Imports Hawaii, Team Manus, Empire VIP Family, Drag Tech Racing Hawaii, SMG Hawaii, VQ Inc. Hawaii, Pure VIP, and a whole lot more including solo riders who could more than hold it down on their own

OSIXHI aka Old School Import X Hawaii and friends were in attendance at Spocom Hawaii 2019 with a host of old school imports

As for my 2003 Lexus IS300 that I had been entering within Spocom Hawaii from 2010 till 2017, I have no idea when she will return to the streets at the moment. Only time will tell
