Unite Here Local 5 X Hale Nani Contract Ratification | 9.25.19
On Wednesday, September 25th, 2019, Unite Here Local 5 held a contract ratification voting day for their union members of Hale Nani Rehabilitation & Nursing Center from 7 a.m. till 10 a.m and 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. respectively within a designated classroom within the property
Spearheading the contract ratification voting day was Cindy Aban who is Unite Here Local 5’s Organizer for the Hale Nani Rehabiliation & Nursing Center property. Unite Here Local 5’s Hale Nani Organizer Cindy Aban has played an integral role in organizing, preparing, and putting forth numerous actions prior to the Hale Nani 1 Day Strike warning which was held on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 and numerous actions & delegations there after. Cindy Aban continues to motivate & inspire the numerous Committee Leaders that can be found within the Hale Nani property into the future with Immigrational & Citizenship Workshops, Community Outreach, and Political & Nationwide based campaigns

Unite Here Local 5’s Hale Nani union members voted to ratify the new union contract with a staggering 99% “Yes” vote achieving better staffing, and the highest wage increase in the history of Hale Nani Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. One job should be enough! Pictured above is also Unite Here Local 5’s Hale Nani union member’s culmination of roughly 9 months of hard work, time, and dedication. Let’s keep moving forward with positivity, unity, strength, and perseverance!

And to my brother Louie Bernardo, you know I have the best interest for our brothers & sisters of Hale Nani Local 5 as do you and our Committee Leaders. but I will never blindly jump into a storm endangering you, myself, or our Ohana but methodically find a way to bypass it safely and without failure. I am my brother’s keeper till we both six feet under
