The 36th Annual Honolulu City Lights kicks off this evening, Wednesday, December 9th, 2020 and will last until Sunday, December 27th, 2020 from 8 p.m. till 11 p.m. nightly
Despite no Honolulu City Lights Parade this year and the holiday decorations has been drastically scaled down due to our world wide pandemic, one can still see Shaka Santa and Tutu Mele kicking it at the Honolulu Hale but this time around rocking a face mask ? or two ✌️ for this year’s festivities, as well as the city’s 50 foot Christmas tree ?
Locals and tourists alike are welcome to take photos, but the city advises drive by viewing of the holiday decorations at Honolulu Hale. The Waikiki Trolley Holiday Lights Tour are still available but are by reservations only
No handshakes ? Just Shakas ? Fun fact: Shaka Santa ? and Tutu Mele ? are not ? 6 feet apart and are not ? practicing proper social distancing ? Update as of Thursday, December 10th, 2020 7:45 A.M. Hawaii Time per the City And County Of Honolulu Facebook Page: Tutu Mele had tested positive later last evening with COVID-19 and will be going into isolation. Shaka Santa who had been exposed to Tutu Mele will go into quarantine as well ? WTF
