National Bao Day is celebrated on August 22nd much to the delight of yours truly, Bao is a flavorful Chinese dough steamed into a bun and commonly filled with pork in Chinese Cuisine. Due to the bao bun becoming popular worldwide, the bao bun fillings have become much more diverse. Here in Hawaii Nei, the bao bun is commonly referred to as a Manapua and is very popular amongst the locals. Fooki is a vintage industrial noodle bar located in Aiea, Hawaii found within the Pearl Kai Shopping Center offering a variety of nostalgic Asian style foods, special tea drinks as well as their Signature “Fooki Bao” which can be found within their menu

Chun Wah Kam is a family owned local chain found here in Oahu Nei offering Manapuas, plate lunches, and a whole lot more. Chun Wah Kam has (4) different locations throughout Oahu Nei that being Kalihi, Ala Moana, Waimalu, and Kapolei

Last but not least is Hawaii’s favorite convenience store that being 7-Eleven. 7-Eleven offers the traditional steamed variety Manapua with Char Siu, Lup Cheong, Chicken Curry, and Teriyaki Chicken fillings to chose from
