Date: Sunday, July 30th, 2023. Time: 10:09 A.M. Location: Kamehameha Highway. Destination: Castle Park πŸ€” Agenda: Check out this morning’s Old School Toyota Cruise at the now defunct Castle Park 😜

Old school Toyota enthusiasts gathered together on Sunday, July 30th, 2023 at a location on Oahu Nei that was once known as “Castle Park” back in the day showcasing their vehicles on a Sunday morning as well as catching up with some small kine talk stories, comradery, friendships, and checking out one another’s builds

Fun Fact: The photo of the parking lot found above ie the now defunct Kmart that was once located on Salt Lake Boulevard ie the meet up location for today’s Old School Toyota Cruise was once known as Oahu’s #1 distraction from Waikiki aka Castle Park. There once was an amusement park within this location known as Castle Park back in the day which incorporated a big castle with arcade games, two miniature gold courses, a battling cage, go-carts, bumper boats, and a water park

My most memorable experience at Castle Park back in the day was with their go-karts at the time. Mind you, I was probably in my hanabata days and being in control of a go-cart for my very first time was mind blowing for yours truly. My very first experience with driving per say. A very quick lesson of “that is your steering wheel, that is your gas pedal, and that is your brake,” and I was well on my way crashing into random go-karts as well as friends and driving off the course πŸ˜†

Filling up his gas tank with 92 octance at a nearby gas station in preparation for today’s Old School Toyota Cruise was Mike Whaley and his 1973 Toyota Corolla Coupe

Cars and Coffee on a Sunday morning. A can of Royal Mills Iced Cappuccino and some old school Toyotas to be exact
