Chasing sunrises. “Close your eyes, rest your mind, and find that peaceful place inside yourself.” For yours truly, I find peace within myself from watching the sun rise and watching the sun set as well as kickin’ it at the beach to reset, recharge, restart, and refocus. My sunrise chasing adventures are usually due to the vibrant and colorful morning sunrises and our beautiful sun glaring at my eyes during my morning commutes to work lmao. I’m like “I’ll catch you during my next day off you faka!” And during my next day off, sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn’t. The main limiting factor is IF I can wake up in time during my day off for a sunrise haha. Sleeping in is good at times during your day off, but not when you have plans to capture the sun rising

Date: Thursday, March 12th, 2020. Time: 3:22 a.m. Location: Waimalu, Hawaii. Destination: Tantalus Lookout for a sunrise. This was an impromptu based decision to chase the sunrise this morning. An impulsive decision at best. I chugged down 40 ounces of Hurricane High Gravity Malt Liquor and knocked the fuck out the previous night, and abruptly woke up earlier than usual this morning. Early enough to chase this morning’s sunrise, and more than enough time to make myself a heaping cup of coffee before heading off towards my adventure

Time: 3:59 a.m. Rule #1 for chasing a sunset. MAKE SURE YOU POOP BEFORE HEADING OFF TOWARDS YOUR ADVENTURE! It’s quite easy to relieve your urinating issue by pulling over the side of the highway and freeing your willy, but it can be a difficult and daunting task to relieving your bowel movement concerns. Privacy Issue and Concern. You have ZERO privacy if you are a doggie owner, and I’m sure all of you doggo owners are well aware of that ?

Time: 5:34 a.m. Location: Round Top Drive. Snaking my way up Round Top Drive. DARK AF! Time to throw up my highbeams!

5:40 a.m. And I have reached my destination. Round Top Lookout. Time to light up a cigarette, chug down 20 ounces of Red Bull, and enjoy the view for a moment or two

5:47 a.m. And it was time to begin the videography and lighting up the shitload of cigarettes to kill the time

6:46 a.m. The sun was suppose to rise at 6:42 a.m. and it was nowhere to be found. Time to turn lemons to lemonades

6:51 a.m. Although the sun wasn’t cooperating this morning, the moon was still making it’s presence be known. Time to shift my focus else where and start recording the moon haha

7:31 a.m. And after all these years, fakas still drive up to the Tantalus Lookout to smash, pound, OOF, or whatever you may want to call it lmao. Good 30 minute session. And I actually walked up to their car, driver side window, to say “wassup” and “good morning” because it was a slammed modded vehicle and oooops UTU BANG BANG ? haha mmmkay imma step back to all the way to where I started, light up a cig, and pretend I didn’t see anything

Time: 8:01 a.m. And it’s a wrap. The battery for my Panasonic GH4 was dead, the sun wasn’t rising as I had wished it to, and the day wasn’t gonna get any more better lmao. It is what it is. I just had to make due with whatever media content I had gathered for the morning, and somehow throw it up onto www.eight08.net as a blog haha

Time: 8:46 a.m. Location: Waimalu, Hawaii. A quick stop at Kabuki’s Okazuya for breakfast and I was good for the rest of the day. Let the video editing begin! And there it is. A view into a couple hours of a morning of mines via my Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm F/2.8 lense and my Samsung S10 Plus. I will catch you on the flipside Mr. Sun! On another day. On another day off. That I can guarantee you! ? ?
