EIGHT08 EATS: Hula Hulas Restaurant & Bar | Takeout Edition

Hula Hulas Restaurant & Bar is a locally inspired restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner nestled within the Grand Naniloa Hotel fronting Hilo Bay. Their pre covid hours of operation was 7 days a week from 6 a.m. till 10 p.m., but has changed since then. Be sure to visit their Instagram account @hulahulashilo regarding their updated hours of operation as well as changes to their menu

Pictured below is their Potstickers from their Appetizer menu priced at $18.00, and their Ceasar Salad from their Salad menu priced at $16.00

Fun fact: wearing a face mask and/or face shield inside your hotel will not stop you from eating and gaining weight ? ?

Their Potstickers are house made consisting of Pacific white shrimp, Hamakua mushrooms, and a citrus ponzu sauce. Verdict: (5) out of (5) Shakas ?

Pictured below is a Cesar Salad from their Salad menu priced at $16.00. I opted to add 5 ounces of Seared Ahi onto the salad for an additional $10.00

Their Cesar Salad consists of anchovies, croutons, permesan, and house made Cesar dressing. Verdict: (5) out of (5) Shakas ?

Pictured below is their Double Cheese Burger from their Burger & Sandwich menu priced at $16.00

Their Double Cheese Burger consist of (2) thin all beef patties, crisp lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, and their House Hula sauce served on a toasted Broiche bun with French fries on the side. Verdict: (3) out of (5) Shakas ?

Pictured below is their Fish Tacos from their Entree menu priced at $21.00. (3) Fish Taco goodness consisting of Blackened Mahi Mahi, lime, cabbage slaw, Lomi tomato, and Sriracha Aioli. Verdict: (3) out of (5) Shakas ?

Pictured below is their Rosemary Truffles Fries from their Appetizer menu priced at $12.00

Their Rosemary Truffle Fries consist of fries cut in house, fried, and tossed with rosemary, garlic, parmesan, and truffle oil. Verdict: (3) out of (5) Shakas ? I guess I’m not a truffle oil kinda guy ?

Their Poke Combo consists of sashimi grade Ahi, cucumber, onions, and soybeans dressed over a crispy wonton and Hawaiian Kampachi

Their Hamakua Mushroom Sandwhich consists of Hamakua mushrooms, sauteed onions, spinach, mozzarella, and pesto aioli served on Papa’s Palaoa Bakery’s Poi Buns. Verdict: (5) out of (5) Shakas ?

Their Hula Hula’s Salad consisted of locally produced greens drizzled with their house made Lilikoi vinaigrette. Verdict: (5) out of (5) Shakas ?

Their Lilikoi Baby Back Ribs consisted of a Lilikoi ginger BBQ sauce with flat crisp fries and a house made slaw on the side. Verdict: 5 out of (5) Shakas ? Tangy, tender, and fall off the bone Lilikoi Baby Back Ribs yumminess ?

Pictured below is another order of their Hula Hula’s Salad this time around with some grilled chicken added into the mix for a total of $20.00

Their Grilled Chicken Pappardelle consisted of house made pasta, garlic cream, local spinach, local cherry tomatoes, and white button mushrooms alongside (2) slices of garlic bread. Verdict: (5) out of (5) Shakas ?

Their Steak Dinner consisted of a 16 ounce New York Strip, two scoops rice, and seasonal field vegetables. Verdict: (5) out of (5) Shakas ?

Pictured below is their Catch Of The Day, which varies and is prepared by their Chef on a daily basis. Verdict: (5) out of (5) Shakas ?

An overall onolicious eating experience thanks to the folks over @ Hula Hula’s Restaurant & Bar ? I believe I have also easily gained over 10 pounds thanks to the folks over @ Hula Hula’s Restaurant & Bar ?
